Thanks to 2013, I know a certain Life Coach (hint: God) better than ever. How do you make a faith vivification ‘blog-pretty’?
I’ll just add in a few verses I’ve thought about happily in 2013:
For my fear/anxiety/worrying/whatever you’d like to name it: 1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
2 Timothy 1:7-
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?
(Answer- ‘man’ can do really great things to/for you! Lots of blessings all around.)
General Living Affirmations:
1 John 2:25-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions– is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Here’s a big one (literally- that font choice though!)
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
You know the feeling when it’s your birthday, so everything falls into place and your day is really special? I feel like 300 days out of the year, I had this feeling because I lent out a lot of anxiety to God, and He chose not to give the borrowed goods back…to my benefit!! I’ve always been an anxious person, but I’ve made huge strides, which is a main reason why I knew that while being in Peru for six months away from what I’ve loved so much about 2013 is a risk, it’s something I can do and will do, and anything that happens is His perfect way, no matter if human comprehension understands the reasoning for life’s pains as well as understanding life’s joys. Maybe tackle that one for 2014? Hehe.
The other 65 days were just 1,560 hours that held room for improvement. I’m keeping that in mind for 2014.
2014 needs a motto.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
STAY TUNED FOR 2014.
